is there a way not to foul everytime u go to block a shot.

Yes, but you have to time the opponent's shot perfectly. I feel it is easier to block a jumpshot than a layup or dunk. I also have a problem when charging fouls are called pretty frequently when you are driving or posting up. Overall, it is a good game though. Better than NBA Live 07.
