Yes. It is a crossover cable, exactly what you need.

The difference between it and a regular network cable is that the wires are "crossed over" each other. This reverse the order of the signal so the second PC can receive it. Normally this "crossover" is done by the router/hub. But since you do not have one, the cable is wired to do it for you.

Yes, that cable will do just fine.

It will ONLY work from PC to PC without a hub/switch.
