5x - 2(5x² - 5x + 5) + (7x² + 4x - 4)

When multiplying by a negative number (- 2) the signs inside the parenthesis change - to + and + to -

5x - 10x² + 10x - 10 + 7x² + 4x - 4

Collect like terms

- 3x² + 19x - 14

The answer is (b) - 3x² + 19x - 14
