for what? you can get away w/ buying drug store brand lipstick/eyeshadow and some eyeliner. The best I would suggest would be Revlon or Rimmel. The best dept store lipgloss is MAC all the way (best selection, price, etc)
the best compact, powder would be lancome
the best eyeliner would maybe be MAC, lancome, hard candy (cute fun colors!)
the best blush would be MAC (nicest colors)
it all depends on your skin type/color/tone!!

Drugstores for shampoos - they are essentially all the same. Some have prettier packaging than others though and that means you pay more. I like Suave. It's cheap and it works.
Best department store buy is Origins Eye Doctor - hands down!

My absolute favorite thing to buy at the drug store is lipsmacker. It smells good and I end up using it more than I think I would. And at a department store, I always get a pair of beautiful exotic shoes. Once I bought a pair that were so nice. with dimaonds on the heal. I got the most complents on that pair.
