They say it in a bad way, too! Why is bad to be outwardy happy? Also, why is a supposed "bad" trait associated with blond hair, when most people are obsessed with the hair color???

giggly is called blond because people think that blonds are always laughing
blonds have a bad rep because a few people that are blond ask stupid all the time

Speaking as a blonde...it's an assumption. Blonde, giggly, happy = no clue about anything going on, complete idiot on everything and anything (although it can come in handy!)
I've run into problems with it at various times in my life and can't figure it out either. It is a stereotype that is acceptable these days since most folks assume that you can make fun of blondes and they are too stupid to understand what is going on.
That said, I've gotten a particular kick on days when I am well-groomed to the eyeballs and beyond...people assume...blonde, soccer mom, idiot...and I get to discuss politics! or economics (years ago)
It's just an acceptable stereotype like rednecks to make someone else feel superior.

yea i always wondered why people want to be blond yet they always critisize them for being airheaded sometimes. weird! most blonds aren't even stupid they are smart.
