Per Ebay's website.....
eBay's policy for non-paying buyers is:
eBay prohibits buyers from not following through with a buying obligation. We consider non-payment to be a serious violation of policy.
Action we will take:
First infraction: warning
Second infraction: warning
Third infraction: indefinite suspension
*****
What if there is a valid reason I was unable to honor my bid(s)?
We do realize that sometimes there are extenuating circumstances in which it is necessary for a buyer to back out of an obligation once a listing ends (buyer becomes ill, death in the family, computer problems). This is why we provide two warnings before you are indefinitely suspended. If you feel there is a valid reason why you did not honor your winning bid(s) obligation to purchase an item, you may appeal your warning.

This has happened to me both as a seller and a buyer.
Best thing to do is write the seller and explain the situation.Be very polite and apologetic in your email. There are fees for the seller when they list and sell an item...perhaps you could offer to send them a few dollars to cover those fees. They can re list the item or offer to another bidder so they will probally let you go on this IF YOU EXPLAIN IT TO THEM .Do not just not pay ! They can contact eBay about a you NOT paying. Also kindly ask them NOT to give you bad feedback. If they let this go give this seller excellent feedback and thank them .
*** dont wait get this over with now !

Bad idea, the seller has the right to pursue you for non-payment and can send you to collections as well as leave negative feedback. First talk to the seller and see if they are willing to re-list if not pay for it and re-list it yourself. The rules are clearly outlined at the e-Bay site and this is a BIG no-no. Try to work with the seller ASAP. Good Luck!

You're in trouble. You contracted to buy and pay for the item if you won it by bidding on it. You are legally obligated to pay for it. THe seller has recourse to have you banned from e-Bay. The least she will do is give you strong negative feedback so other sellers may choose not to accept bids from you in the future. If you ever want to use e-Bay again, pay for the item immediately. You can always re-list it for sale yourself if you don't want it.

I think eBay will tell you it's too bad if you changed your mind. eBay makes it very clear that if you bid and win, it now belongs to your and you have to pay for it. If you don't, they can be pretty harsh, they can and might ban you from the site. How the seller reacts is up to the seller. They don't like being disparaged and they are relentless about bashing you on eBay for your miscue.

just dont pay....... the seller will get mad and report you to ebay and ebay will put a strike on your account, but thats all that will happen. so basically a slap on the hand.
at least try to e-mail the seller and give her some sort of b-s excuse....... she will be less angry that way than if you dont contact her at all..
