you multiply each term in the bracket (each bit separated by + or - by whatever is out side the bracket (in front of the bracket).

a) 10 times 3x = 30x

b) 5 times 6x + 5 times +2

=30x + 10 (this looks like the answer you're looking for)

c)2 times 15x + 2 times 5

= 30x + 10 (this looks like the answer you're looking for

d) 10 times 3x + 10 times 1

=30x + 10 ( they all look like the answer you're looking for except the first)

If the first (a) were 10(3x + 1) it would be the same as all the others

Gosh, which one of those do you suppose multiplies out to 30x+10, and can't be factored further?

d, you have to remember the 1.
to check, distribute it back out
10(3x+1)=30x+10
the others are wrong because:
a- it equals 30x
b & c- they are not factored completely
