I am taking Lo-Ovral (generic Cryselle). What are the chances this caused weight gain? If I stop taking it will I lose weight?

Only initially, and it's never more than 5 pounds. People who blame a lot of weight gain on the pill are just finding excuses.

Maybe if you take a birth control pill with lower hormones, then not so much. It is either you take the pills and gain a few pounds, or you quit taking it, get pregnant and gain 30 pounds. I would choose the pills. If you want to know more ask your doctor. I had to get off my depo because it caused me to gain 40 pounds(I was very physically active) and it made me have a period for 3 straight months...hence the weight gain. Stay active, or exercise, to keep the weight down. Good luck! :)

Every woman is different. When I was on the shot I gained 25 pounds. It was pretty hard to get off too. I have never noticed any significance in weight when I take the pill. I guess it is your body chemistry that decides.

Oh, heck ya. The pill put weight on me when I was a teen.
Although, I'm not sure if you can actually lose weight if you
go off of it.
Not sure about what you're taking though, maybe just ask
your doctor. Keeping physically active can help keep it in
check though.
And if you don't like water much, at least try and drink 3
glasses a day.

yes...one of the side effects of just about all birth control is weight gain.

it does. the hormones fatten you up. if you stop, you can lose the weight again, but the older you get, the harder it is.
