It's based on both the mother and father's income, how much time is spent with the children, who pays health insurance, daycare, etc.
The new spouse's are NOT responsible financially for the children of you and yoru ex-husband.

Child support is based on the mother and father income not on income of their new spouses. But it takes into account how many children father or mother has to support. Children are included from all prior marriages ( if either father or mother were married more then twice} and present marriage.

It depends on what state you live in....each state does it differently, which is why you have ten different answers down there. In most states they do not consider the new spouse....it is only the income of the biological parents that is taken into consideration, because anything from the non-biological parent is considered a gift, unless there is an adoption situation where they assume legal responsibility. From there they take into consideration what is set forth in the original divorce document, visitation, insurance, etc.
