For starters you might learn to spell attendance. There are more than one good reasons for good attendance.

1. It prepares you for the world outside of school. Most employers will not appreciate excuses for not being at work regularly and on time.

2. It teaches you self-discipline.

3. The amount of material that must be covered in school is enormous. Missing even one day can put you far behind other students.

Attendance is a quantifiable proof of your responsibility. You well know a grade can be wrong depending on the teacher, but your attendance is a legal number. NO ONE can lie about that, including yourself. You were either there or not. Most employers say we can teach an employee anything except how to be there. That attendance number means something to them.

Because if you're in class its much easier for you to understand and remember the material. Some people, especially if they learn better by hearing things than by reading, won't be able to get it at all if they're not in class. If you're there you can ask questions and learn from other people's questions. Also, if the teacher writes their own questions they will word them the same way they lectured. You'll do better on the test if you were there for the lecture. This took me at least half way through college and a lot of bad grades to figure out. Even though I learn well from reading and a lot of these classes were not hard for me, I got better grades when I was in class.

Just like everything else...It's all about money.
