I thought you could use the ipod as a hard drive??? Can't i somehow store the data from ipod onto my computer and then transfer the files onto itunes library?

Yep, thats what I do! Go back to the shop and ask about it. It should be possible.

Dont mean to sound sarcastic or rude in anyway but if you by a book called ipods for dummies it will help you out loads mate. Im an ipod retard and it helped me out like you wouldnt believe. You can get the book for about a fiver on ebay.

all you do is connect iPod to pc, (forget itunes for now) then find the icon in 'my computer' and all you do is select the things you want to put on and move or copy them to the iPod! easy!
