Electric blankets are not designed to be slept on top of, they have thin filaments of wire in them that make the heating element, if you lay on them they will brake and you will either burn up the circuitry or shock yourself.

You have to read the instructions for your particular blanket, but if it's an UNDERBLANKET it should be on top of the protector, otherwise it will overheat. If it's an OVERBLANKET then it should be above you and under any other covering, e.g a downie, as these blankets have different sensors.

Yes you can, but I would put a sheet under the blanket and over the protector.

I put ours under the mattress protecter! after all you dont want wet spills on a electir blanket! (it does work, been like it for months!)

If your protector is vinyl, I wouldn't recommend it. Too much of a fire-hazard. Otherwise, try it, sounds toasty warm.
