To me... being an adult is simply being held accountable for your own actions and decisions.

Adulthood is a period when u can no longer afford to be a kid. In childhood or adolescence the worst decision u made could, in the worst case scenario, make u very unpopular at school or get in an argument with your parents. As an adult your decisions will set the course of your life. Money, family, career... You have to find a way to combine them so u get the life u wish. Any mistakes made can have desastrous cosequences not only for u or your future, but also for your entire family! It's hard to talk about it here, cause there are so many things to be told. I'm only 21, but at 14 I left at a military school, after I finished it I went to faculty, where I still am now. I have a home, a full time job and I I I I handle all the expenses I have or those necessary for the house... So I know a little bit about being an adult. If you are still young, let me give you a piece of advice: LIVE YOUR CHILDHOOD WHILE YOU STILL HAVE THE CHANCE. SOMEDAY U'LL BE SORRY THAT U DIDN'T!

If your head hasn't exploded from the above answer, I would say adulthood is a process of developing a refined taste for pleasure and an eye for beauty. The rest is just going through the motions.
