Wow! I totally agree with you. Its awesome to see someone your age with actual good taste. The so called music now days is nothing but crap. Its all about the look and not the talent. Everyone is the same and everyone wants to like it because its the cool thing to like. Alice in Chains is my favorite group ever. Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots are right up there too. Right on!

hey, if people don't like what u listrn to, *** em'. music is one (if not the main one) way that and individual can express themseslf. music defines lots of things about a person. i listen to grunge and im 19. i still listen to alice in chains, nirvana, pearl jam, and a lot of others. my friends look at me like im a freak but they know im not. its just a type of music i like. if a complete stranger wants to call me a freak cuz i listen to grunge, i dont know them, so let them think what they want. unless rumors start getting spread. then its time to start breakin some necks.

You can listen to whatever you want and it doesn't make you a freak. The people who call you a freak because of your music tastes are probably other 13 year olds. Don't listen to them, they need to grow up. And musical taste changes with age... I was a Nirvana fanatic at age 13 now I listen to far different music. But the point is that it really doesn't matter what you listen to. It's a personal prefrence. You listen to music for yourself, not to please other people.

I totally agree with you. I was fortunate enough to grow up when music was still cool. I remember when these bands were played as the popular music of the time and MTV actually showed music videos. I was in New Orleans the day Shannon Hoon died (and was near the tour bus several times that day) and remember Cobain's death as one of those defining moments in my life.

you're pretty right on for a thirteen year old.
I'm 26 now and I was 13-14 when all the good music started again. It seems to go in cycles. Hopefully this current trend of soulless, corporate, pop-horsesh#t will come to a close real soon and some good music can take the airwaves for awhile.

You are allowed to listen to whatever YOU want, don't let anyone else influence you. Besides, plenty of kids here listen to "grunge".
I like that kind of music too. :) But more rock-ish/screamy type music.
Hinder isn't bad though, they remind me of... well I dont know what they remind me of, but I like them.
Do you listen to Tool? I think they make the top of my favorite bands list. :D And then Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden/Audioslave, Disturbed, etc.
