My mom wants a sperm donor but I told her thats no good since her bf isnt capable of having children anymore.
I told her about adoption. She wants to have her own. Crap. How do I talk her out of it, then?

Ask her if she has concidered all the pit-falls of sperm donation: not knowing paternal genes, kid not knowing where half of it came from, maybe father will be less keen on it if he knows it's not his.
Give logical arguments.
If it turns out she has considered all these factors and would still prefer a baby that was her own, to one who's genes are unknown on both sides, then you have to respect her decision and support her in what she does.

I know you feel that she shouldnt have a child from a sperm donor, but i guess your mom wants to go throught the whole experience of carrying her child for nine months, she may feel like its best for her. Yes adoption is great there are so many kids out there that need a family to love them. You can talk to her and let her know what you think about it, let her know that you think adoption would be great because she wouldnt be helping someone out. If she doesnt want that, all you can do is be there for her. You will love it all in the end.

well if she wants a sperm donor then she should first talk to her boyfriend about it see what he thinks.
And sometimes adoption isn't the same for some people. . . having your own child that came from "you" is something verry emotional for some people.

dont its your mums choice. No matter what happens she will do what she wants. Try to tell her sperm donors now have to give their name etc... so when child wants or finds out thats not their real dad, they are intitled to go and find him.

why would yuo do that? I agree adoption is a great idea, but it is her choice, not yours! are you going to give birth and look after the baby? NO? Then leave her to her life

hhmmm i don't really think there is a way out...Just make her feel gilty for not adopting one of all these poor kids in need..

that way she can get it out of her system and she can also pick and chose what type of person she wants.
they have it all there to chose from tall blue eyes .smart and so forth..
