In case no one else has noticed, it seems that every time a celebrity mom has a baby, they automatically have a c-section. I don't understand why. I have had two kids...one vaginally and one c-section. I didn't elect to have a c-section, I had to have it, because my baby was breech. My doctor even tried external version first, because I didn't want to have surgery to have a baby. There are risks with both types of delivery, but I must be missing something. When they get on Letterman to talk about their new child, they never say WHY they and their doctor decided on a c-section. Hell, it hurt worse for me to have a c-section and I had a longer recovery time. Maybe someone could shed some light on this for me.

Ok, not every woman that is a celebrity has some kind of problem where they must have a c-section. Faith Hill, Denise Richards, Britney Spears...there can't be that many breech babies...come on!

These days you don't have to be a celebrity to have a c-section by choice. I know several everyday women that opted for c-section and doc said ok. Alot of doctors are doing them regardless of the need for them.

It seems that far more women are opting for the C-section. I have had 7 friends have babies in the last 2 years and every one of them has gone for the C-section. Only 2 even tried a natural birth and only 1 had to have a C-section (twins). I think it may be because so many women are afraid of delivery. But I agree with you. I have never had a C-section; I had two totally natural births and the recovery time was much faster, the hospital stay was shorter and I got back into shape much easier!

most celebrities dont even have time to look after their kids, so they definately don't have time for a natural birth. They need to know exactly when it will happen so they can write it in their diary. I think it's very selfish. I too had c sections for all my 3 children. I would have loved natural births. I have been with 2 friends for the births of their children and it was the most amazing thing in the world to see. and like you said getting over a c section really hurts.

I see this as a problem with "celebrity". I have had 2 sections, didn't want them but baby came first.. Celebrity is just a name as far as I am concerned (in fact the thickos, think they have something they havent), but its the public at large that think they are "special". And what are they, singers, dancers, attached to someone who might be a little higher up the celebrity lest. What the hell is the public doing to peoples minds.

The same reason why they don't have to wait in lines, get out of speeding tickets, and can actually get away with leaving their child with a nanny 6 days a week and be called a "wonderful parent": They have money.

Maybe they just want their babies to have nice little round shaped heads. My baby looked like a little conehead when he was born through a vaginal birth.

Many women elect to have c-sections... if you want it, the doctor will do it, it's your choice.

maybe they just don't wanna go thru the painful process of labor, so they just take the "easy " way....and they can do whatever they want you know...big box $$ for the dr..he just hast to please them in whatever they want...But I agree with you...it is easier to recover form a V birth...and there's no scar to it.
