I think almost everyone goes through a stage like that where they just feel like they dont fit in this time. When I was in high school in the late 80 early 90 I listened to mostly 60s music talk about not fitting in when most people were listening to hip hop or metal....

As far as being born in the wrong country well......maybe that will pass too just remember as you get older things like that dont matter as much. I still listen to all my Pink Floyd , Sex Pistols, Velvet Underground, and all that old motown stuff too, and I dont care who knows.

My nan often use to tell me that my mind was in the future, but I was linked to the past. When I was younger and even now, I loved the fashion of women of the Edwardian and Victorian period costumes.

I have never really been one for trousers and have always liked long dresses. Also, I wear my hair long and love the way women use to wear their hair during those periods.

As for feeling like I was born in the wrong country; I have often felt I was born on the wrong planet. I have never really been able to understand the concept of war, or violence, discrimination against a person for their colour, or religion.

Your question is a good question, as it makes you explore those feelings to try and make sense of them.

I am 43 and to this day; I still feel that I was born on the wrong planet at the wrong time.

I believe most of us go through that.

I personally feel I was on a wagon train westward bound. I am sooooooooo glad that I am not, yet I can feel the history.

I think that those feelings you have are more of an interest in the past rather than you actually being born in the wrong century, country or time.

What country/time do you associate yourself with? Maybe you need a drastic change in your life - new places, new people, new experiences. Maybe you need to re-evaluate your life on the background of some new challenging situation. Maybe it is the adventurous "you" craving to surface.
So, what's the problem - take a break and go backpacking to some exotic country, where you can find both - a different country and a different time :)...
PS. It's amazing that it may not even be so expensive.

I am the `black sheep` of my family, I do not look like anyone else and I have photos dating back to the late 1800`s, I have always felt that I did not belong where I am. I have an imagination that to say the least is odd,( is it imagination or memory?) I have always been this way, as a child I was refered to as `that weird girl` my mother used to tell me it was because I was clever and people were jealous. One of my profs. at university decided that I was from a parallel universe, and used to talk with me for hours, but I think I was a great disappointment to him, because I just continued to be weird me! It is very odd though.

Perhaps you are remembering a previous life & you still feel at home in your old existence, wherever & whenever it might have been. Sometimes I'll have vivid dreams about places I don't remember ever being. I'll wonder how I could imagine so much detail without having experienced it. I'm open to the possibility of reincarnation. It would explain a lot of things...

I would suggest you try to find the right time and space that you should be in by reading books on different era's once you find the one that you should be in I would suggest that you look at a painting from that time and imagine yourself in the painting that is the only way to do it if you are going back in time.

I my self am from the late to Early 1700's and I often visit home in several paintings from that era.

Paintings are a link to ur past and they have a time warp that you can catch if you just stand and imagine yourself in the painting

maybe because you have different beliefs, dressing style, values than those around you. We all feel out of place sometime or another...in life you will eventually find people like yourself....or people that accept you for who and what you are....College had some of those people for me.....look and hang in places where you will met people you can relate to.

It's the Chief outfit and head dress which gives it away Sitting Bull.

Maybe progress is too fast.
