The jokes are not to make fun of Kazakhstan it's to make fun of ignorant Americans.

Anyway, i think the movie and character is meant to be tongue in cheek and thus not to be taken too seriously. I've been to kazakhstan and can honestly say that the things that Borat portrays do not, in any way, shape or form represent the country. It is an innacurate and unfair depiction. It'a about as far away from reality as possible

I personally don't think that the movie is done in good taste. The man is mocking an entire nation! I'm sorry if you truly are offended. I believe you when you say that Kazakhstan is not that bad.
