If we make it illegal to drink, then it means we must make abortion illegal since both do harm to a child. Am I right?

HAHAHA ok everyone just wanted to clear up, I am a 20 year old guy who has no plans on having a baby any time soon. So please do not bash me hahahaha.

There is no law against drinking alcohol while you're pregnant but doctors will really advise you against it. I have heard a glass of red wine here and there will not harm a fetus, but only after the first trimester.
The best bet, is better safe than sorry and not drink any alcohol while pregnant. You don't want to gamble with your baby's health.

It's certainly not illegal, although a good prosecutor could make a case for endangerment if you were going out getting hammered every day.
If you're wondering whether you can drink at all while pregnant, listen to your doctor. It's very common in Europe for pregnant women to have a glass or wine or two every once in a while, although the common widsom in the U.S. is to avoid all alcohol during pregnancy.

it's not illegal to drink and everyone has there own opinion about what they want to do but a nurse actually said that it was good for the baby to have a glass of wine every once in awhile. I wouldn't drink other things do.

Not illegal. Even doctors will okay the occasional drink. But drinking enough to cause fetal alcohol syndrome is a crime. Because its not just a glass of wine here or there,now you have actually hurt the unborn. Enjoy but dont endulge.

It is not illegal but it can harm the baby. I've heard that a glass of wine is okay once in a while. But I don't recommend it.

It's not illegal, although I think it should be considered reckless endanderment. Alcohol causes SERIOUS effects on your baby. Just stay away from it for 40 weeks. Once you're baby is here and healthy, you can have a celebratory toast with your husband.

It's not illegal to drink when pregnant.
But as a responsible future mom, you should be aware of the negative effects drinking can have on your baby... Avoid also caffeine, and any other stimulants...

Not illegal but very dangerous for your baby. Remember this is only 9 months out of your life its your baby's whole life.

Not illegal. The doctor says you can have a drink when pregnant but limit it only one not very strong

No, but it's STUPID to drink while pregnant. The affects of alcohol could cause damage to the fetus, possibly causing birth defects that will impair your child for a life time. Don't do it.
