There are several great websites that deal with shakespeares life and time that give accurate information regarding your topic. Go to refdesk.com , www.sparknotes.com, or shakespeare.com. To know the humour and sorrow, look at Shakespeares plays, it reflected the life and times. To understand the religion you will have to look up the life of Queen Elizabeth and the religious fight she inherited from her dad, Henry VIII.
