I am not sure if anyone knows the answer to this but i will give it a try...i believe it was about a mother who abandoned or mistreated her kids, or they were left orphaned but the one thing that i remember is that the daughter would sing "take me home"? does anyone remember this movie? it may have aired on television (drama)in the 1990's? i can't remember any of the actors. sorry

There was a movie in the 80's with Kenny Rogers & Anthony Michael Hall called 'Six Pack'. It was about these 6 or 7 orphans who take up with Roger's racecar driver character. Anyway, one of the orphans, a boy who WAS very girlie sang 'Country Roads' or 'Rocky Top' a couple times in the movie and it was really moving. Probally not the movie you're looking for but you reminded me of it. good movie
