With my first pregnancy I had a vaginal birth, they gave me demerol, the gas just makes you feel like you can't breath, demerol helps with the contractions but doesn't help through the whole delivery, the contractions feel like really strong period cramps, YES IT DOES HURT when the baby drops, I was screaming in PAIN, when the head drops you feel like you are pushing through a RING OF FIRE!!! a nurse told me that it would feel like that before i gave birth she said i would be pushing through a ring of fire and once the baby dropped I could swear there was a damn Ring of Fire down there...... Sounds Scary huh but after the baby is born most of the pain is GONE!! I had a c-section with my second child. they give you a needle and freeze you. Once you are frozen you only feel a lot of pressure and a lot of tugging. A nurse helped me through the whole thing cause everytime I felt a tug or something she assured me that it was normal then when they were about to pull the baby out the nurse told me i would feel a lot of pressure like someone is standing on my chest, well when they pulled the baby out I totally felt like a elephant was standing on me. Once you are in the recovery room you do feel really sore they give you some pain relievers. I think it's a real tie for recovery after. With vaginal birth I absolutely hated to go pee, it hurt like hell to go pee for a month. felt like i was pushing needles through me. With c-section it hurt to laugh and to get up. For me personally I would do c-section again. After the pain of delivery for vaginal that hurt like hell if I had an epidural it probably would have been better. Either way there is pain there is no way around it.

Yes it hurts but remember no pain, no gain! it is the most wonderful experience anyone can have barring none! I've had a natural deliverys and 2 c sections. Regular delivery is pretty much over when it's over although more painful. C sections you have at least a 2 week recovery that is pretty hard for you to sit up and pull up but with an epidural there is no pain at all. I myself prefer the natural delivery just becuz I'm pretty partial to natural things. The whole 26 hour process was worth every minute of pain and then some!!

You know this question is similar to someone asking about how sex feels for the first time. I have had 3 live births, 2 natural and 1-c/section. It is so painful but every woman just like every pregnancy is different but just like sex you will do it again and again because its just something about the end result that keeps you coming back, same for having babies. What I will say is with pregnancy the pain is like no pain you will ever feel in life but I might say the same thing about your first time, you will never have another one but the difference is you. We can all tell you one fact , it will hurt but I promise you if you like the end result it won't matter, you will do it again and again. Good luck new Momma!

Read these books: Mayo Clinic's Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy and What to Expect When You're Expecting.
Yes it hurts. But there are pain medicines that your doctor can treat you with, and epidurels. C-sections aren't as painful during the procedure because you'll be numb, or in some cases, out cold. If you're only numb, you'll be awake and feel some tugging, but little to no pain. The healing process is what's painful, especially since they want you to regularly cough to make sure fluid doesn't build up in your lungs. Hope this answers your questions.

Yes, no matter how you look at it, giving birth is very painful. All of my births were vaginal, but my friend told me that a C-section is not so bad. She had about a week or so of pain from the incision but she never actually felt any labor pain (she was a planned C-section). It is impossible to accurately describe the pain of childbirth. Most people have to experience it to fully understand.

It does hurt, but it's the most amazing experience in the world. I've never had a c-section, but I've given birth vaginally with an epidural three times. It's absolutely incredible to see the little person that you created come into the world. It's the ultimate high. Once you watch him or her come out of your body, you forget any pain. It's been said before, but it's SOOO true!

Labor does hurt and the drugs they give you don't always kick in on time. The burning sensation that come on just befor the baby come hurts the most but as soon as its over it is so well worth it. You really do not know what love means until you see your baby for first time. In my opinion when the baby is coming out it is like you are taking a poo. The relief and the emotions are the greatest and to here your baby cry for first time will make you cry cause your are so happy. I wouldn't worry about the pain. You forget it as fast as it came cause there are so many things you want to teach the little bundle of joy!

C-sections don't hurt until afterward. You are numb so it just feels like they are pushingon you but youc an't really feel it. There is some pressure and it is hard to breath when they are getting the baby out but that is about it.
Recovery kinda sucks b/c of the pain.
Pray for a vaginal birth!

It's very painful, feels like menstrual cramps x 100. But you'll get through it and it will be over and done with. I don't know about the C-section. I used to be really worried about how I'd handle the pain, but I didn't scream or anything. So try not to be too worried and take lamaze classes so you'll know what to expect.

I don't know how a c-section feels, but I do know natural child birth kinda feels like your taking a really big poop. only out of the wrong hole. And you push and push and push and it feels kinda like your really going to poop (they do clean yo out before hand though so you can't really, at least I don't think you can) and the contraction feel like your pushing when your not. And if you start to tair you can feel that to but most likely the Dr. will cut you a little so you don't tair but I felt that too.
Basically natural child birth HURTS LIKE HELL.
