How about 'Cultural Imperialism in the Internet Era'.

Lots of people around the world are having their own traditional cultures replaced with American/ European/ Industrialised / Shopping-Mall culture, as more and more people get access to the internet.

You could write about all the advantages and disadvantages of the arrival of internet-access in poorer countries.

In the 19th Century, colonialists from Britain and Europe had to visit places in Africa, India and elsewhere, in order to affect their culture. Nowadays, international trade and the internet just make cultural-imperialism happen automatically, 24 hours a day. Rural people in China move to towns and work in factories, lose touch with family, old songs, stories, farming practices, etc, all the time.

Its not all negative though. People's incomes rise, they get education, clean-water and high-tech medicine, opportunities to travel for the first time, etc.

C'mon Marie !! That's why you're in school - to THIMK. Make this your idea, don't copy someone else's.

Frankly, I am tiring of incendiary words like racism. Using emotionally volatile words like that only lead me to conclude that people using them don't want to talk specific problems or issues.

What about "the perpetuation of ignorance in economically challenged households"?

You could choose racism, but I would be sure to apply it outside the U.S. A lot of Americans don't realize there is racisim everywhere.
