Yes. 16 year olds have a lot to deal with in society: going to school, maybe working, putting up with bull at school, like cliques and phoney people, some stupid *** teachers.
many kids do not have 2 parents, or one or two is not acting right and so on. If a 15-16 year old has problems, like little control over their lives, such as abusive parents or bf or gf or other peers, they should have that independence.
come on, look around, see the news; kids have a lot of pressure from the nasty/phoney media and from the not so stable fellow citizens they have to deal with. there is a lot of bull and bad stuff in america's society. yeah 16 year old is right to have all rights.
of course people should encourage 16 year olds to think things thru and educate themselves on matters, like finance, voting, relationships, health and so on. take care everyone.

suprisingly no. im not in the Uk but if i was my answer would be the same because i think that the people driving at the age of 18 are speeding all the time (well most of them) and enough people are having sex at 16 and under without having to make it legal. it would throw everyone out of order, more deaths on roads 1: because your letting them drive at such an early age 2: because they probably had drink after you making them legally allowed have alcohol! i know your not saying drink driving is a good thing, or asking for that to be legal, but seriously how many teenagers are going to have the oportunity to both take drink and drive at the age of sixteen without going mad? so theres your answer and your explaination... hope it helped

Although im now 35 years old i find it hard to believe that most 16 year olds would care for politics or elections, in the uk at the minute there has never been such apathy for politics as there is now.
People especially young people would probably be more interested in politics if things related to them.
The politicians we have at the minute are self serving pigs with their snouts in the trough. Whilst they spout promises, not many are followed through when power is gained, its a case of looking after no 1. This is seen by a lot of people and young adults in particular cannot relate to these arrogant out of touch politicians.
On your side comment about lowering the age limit of drinking to 16 i find this a dangerous precedent to set as i personally think drinking should be over 25s only . But thats just my opinion

I would definitely vote no, half the trouble and vandalism around here is caused by underage drinkers. Why make it even easier for them to get alcohol?

As for driving...no way! I think they should increase the driving age to 21 as it is.

Why not make it that you have to be 18 for everything, that sounds a better idea.

No-one in their right mind will vote for this, and the MP's won't give it the time of day. You might get on the news though! Happy drinking/sexing/driving illegally!

ah to be 16 again - and not a clue in the world
nope nope nope
you will find yourself much wiser at 18 - even more so at 21 and when you have a family st 25 - wow

then you don't want those 16 yr old kids voting soda pop in the water fountain because they can vote

will never happen - sorry

I know that you probably want the answer to be someone from the UK, but I think that 16 is too young to be making the legal limits...

No, 16 is to young for sex, drinking and only supervised driving. A 16 year old is to immature for taking responsibility for all of these things. I would be totally against it for the 16 year olds safety.

motives why that's 21 is by technique of the fact your techniques would not totally advance till your 20. So while they are announcing it;s 21, that's in simple terms because of the fact they do no longer desire to break you. and that i've got relatively no clue why that's 19 in Canada. this is enormously youthful.

Definitely not for driving. Teenage drivers are morons. Let's lower the age so more get killed? Great idea!
Drinking, same answer applies. Teenage drinkers are morons too. Lower the age but make it illegal to get medical treatment for anything while drunk!
Sex, it is 16 anyway.

I would vote no. there are some things that a 16 year are just not capable of using a straight head about.
