I used Tums but if they're not working for you ask your doctor for a prescription of Phenegrin. I was VERY anti-medication throughout my pregnancy but I did relent on the Phenegrin. It's had over 20 years of solid research on the affects on pregnant women and fetuses. It's been around quite a while and has the data to back it up that it's safe to take during pregnancy. I went from miserable to highly functional as soon as I started taking it!

hey hun, yea I used to use tums every so often. I also found out that hard candy (especially peppermint) worked for my nausea. I also ate saltine crackers. I had horrible morning sickness and was actually given a script I could take if need be, because I couldn't keep things down in the begining. It will get better...hang in there!

If tums helps you then take them. It is also a good source of calcium. I was very sick for 4 whole months, everyday. Keep crackers with you at all time, and if you like peanut butter, spread some peanut butter on them. Drink gingerale, or eat ginger snaps. Mints and hard/sour candy helps a lot! Your naseua will decrease. This is what helped me.

Tums will help a lot! they are safe and also provide calcium. Ive also found that saltine crackers and lemon candy have helped me settle my stomach. Weak tea can help as well. Good luck and feel better soon!

To my knowledge tums isn't what you should be using for an upset stomach. What you can use is gravol to settle the stomach and if this doesn't work then you should talk to tour doctor cause he can perscribe something stronger for that, that is safe for you and your baby

My doctor let me take tums when I was pregnant. I don't think you can take too much, but you might ask your doctor. I probably took 2-4 every couple of hours when I had heartburn, which was a lot.

Dont take more than the recomemded dosage if your havin trouble with keeping food down talk to your doctor there is many things you can take to help you. After 3 months of trying we finally found one that helped with mine it was a pill I would take 30 mins before i eat it helped coat the stomach so it didnt get irratated. Talk to your ob there is something out there that will work for you too. Untill then try peppermint it helped a little for me I just hated the taste of it.

i was sick 24/7 for 9 months, i only gained 20 pounds and i had a nie pound baby! try these wrist bands that apply "accupressure" to specific spot on your wrist. They really help, but do look kind of silly, like sweat bands. Also, it is okay to use dramamine, not excessively though. you can also get a presciption for phenergine from your doctor. it is available as a suppository if you are unable to hold anything down.
