Their pigheaded, arrogant, meglamaniacal leader would have came clean about f****** up in Iraq, and dumped Rumsfield long ago? This should serve as a microcosm of how things go when you "stay the course" when you are on the wrong course.
I am not a democrat and do not know if they will turly be any better. But I think they will be better than what we had. C'mom dems, do us proud.

Logic 101 the no spin zone:
Hype: We took an evil dictator out of power, set up a democracy, and we did find weapons of mass destruction, whether or not the media will admit it.
Fact: A dictator Uncle Sam created to use as a Luca Brasi on those evil Iranians for taking that embassy
Hype: I don't think the dems will be able to keep america and its allies safe
Fact: Like the Rep kept the UK, Spain and Jordan free of attack.
Hype: Maybe if the Dems and the media hadn't spend the past 3 years doing everything in their power to make Iraq a failure
Fact: The media spent 6 months selling the case that it will be a quick easy war.
Hype: Many people disagree with your belief that having a free and democratic Iraq is the 'wrong course',
Fact: democracy was just a stop on the trip. It was peace, democracy, prosperity. Peace was bypasses so the rest of the trip was made going to wrong way. Democracy or not.

Sure they could, but They'd have to stop the lies, hypocrisy and rubber stamping W's policies. Of course, they'll never do that...

I am not a democrat, or a republican. I'm just a person who votes. So I do what I think is 'best' for me and my family when I vote. I think that makes me simply "American".
I have no hatred for one party or the other, but I DO hate all the whining and crying and finger pointing on both sides of the aisle about almost anything they can think of or get busted about. For pity's sake! These are grown men and women and they're acting like schoolchildren who've had a bad day. What ever happened to 'working together'?
And as the leaders go, so goes the rest of the country, apparently. For now instead of working together, we work only for ourselves. There doesn't seem to be a 'common ground' even being discussed, let alone considered. Honest debate has been replaced with name calling. And don't even get me started about whatever happened to self-sacrifice for the common good.
I think this election has been a wake-up call for the Reps, and makes the Dems realize they've been given some power, but it can be revoked very quickly. Hopefully this is a very short leash we've put them on, and not another 12 year free for all.
I hope SOMEONE makes us proud, and soon! I'm just not looking for it to come from any single politician or political party. It will only come from us learning to work together again.

Maybe if the Dems and the media hadn't spend the past 3 years doing everything in their power to make Iraq a failure, the situation would be different.
Many people disagree with your belief that having a free and democratic Iraq is the 'wrong course', probably more than you'd care to realize.

Gee, let's look at Fozzie's statement:
The republicans have controlled the house and senate since 1994, and for all that time the conservatives have been claiming "liberal media bias"...yet they still held control during that time despite their claimed bias. All of sudden the media is a powerhouse, when for 12 years they weren't able to pull off an upset? Hmm...nope.
People in this country were sick of the direction they were being taken, and sick of a congress that accomplished nothing of any importance and refused to compromise with democrats to get real work done. They voted as they did to give the democrats a chance to direct the path we'll take for the next few years -- and I, like you, will be rooting for them and doing everything I can to help to insure that they accomplish their goals and don't fall into the republican corrruption trap.
Do us proud, indeed!

Maybe things would have been different - I think there has been a general awakening of the American people. We have realized that we have been lied to and have finally decided to do something about it. I truly hope that the new representation in Congress will make a difference. You know, the whole 'check and balance' idea is a good one. No one party or school of thought ever speaks for the whole nation.

We did not mess up in Iraq. We took an evil dictator out of power, set up a democracy, and we did find weapons of mass destruction, whether or not the media will admit it. I don't think the dems will be able to keep america and its allies safe. I also find Hillary Clinton to be ugly.

I'm thinking that replacing Rumsfeld could have had quite a large impact on the GOP keeping the House and Senate.
The only 'if' is when could it have been a good time? Six months ago, three months, a week ago?
