Doomsday was pretty much a crappy Superman story line invented to boots sales. I hate most 90s comics, too gimmicky looking back. It was a weak story and Doomsday was not a very interesting character. Everyone knew Superman wouldn't stay dead.

Well "Doomsday" has many different concepts and beliefs. For instance, my view is the biblical view i.e. Armageddon. True that human greediness is part of the problem but mostly is the stubborness to accept God as their #1 ruler and make the changes accordingly. It will come and the things we see today show that it's not that far away. If we make the right choices and do the right thing, we won't be a part of the "destruction of the wicked ones". Anyway, hopefully that answer is okay. I'm still new at this Q&A deal. ^.^

Look people the next big one will start with nukes going off at the same time in Tel Aviv, NY, DC, and London. That will be from Iran's Hamas, next will be freighters in all of the US shipping ports having nukes in lead shielded boxes in the fuel oil tanks of merchant ships. That will effectively take the US completely out of it in the first 30mins of WW3 Now after that North Korea will take South Korea and China will take Japan and as much of Russia as possible. Europe will wisely sue for peace with China as the new World Super power. After things calm down a bit negotiations between the EU and China will take place. The former US will be divided up between the two based upon the premise that France will not nuke what is left. During these negotiations the EU and China will also plan a lightning take over of the middle east which will also be divided up between the two powers. When all is said and done there will be peace and technological progress unheard of before.

The end of the world will not come by men just vying for power. It will come by the Anti-Christ rising to power through democracy. He will sign a covenant with the nation of Israel for 7 years. (in the Bible - Daniel 9:27) Then he will break that covenant at the 3 1/2 year mark. Following is a time of unbelievable misery for the human race - God pours out His judgment on those who did not believe HIm (those who believed Him are not on the earth at this time). Read the books of Daniel and Revelation to find out more about this time. At the end of this 3 1/2 year time, Jesus Christ will return and destroy the Anti-Christ and those that follow him.

This is the true Biblical description of the events of the end times. There are more events that follow this, but the things I have listed here are those things that people have commonly viewed as "Doomsday" and changed to fit their particular tastes.

I do not agree with an all out doomsday. I think like the cockroaches some humans will survive.
However I also believe that the day will be a result of some astro-calamity.
If greed or power were the culprits then we would have been extinct some time ago.

The universe was the size of the head of a pin and then in a trillionth of second became a universe that is billions of light years across. In the next second after you read this it may be a pin head size universe again and you know what ? The true you will be unchanged by this.

Read the book of Revelation, but also read Ezekiel, Daniel, Isaiah. But first read Matthew 24 and Luke 13. God wins in the end.
