Bottle-fed babies tend to have one firm bowel movement a day, though some may only have a bowel movement once every three or four days. This isn't considered abnormal unless the stool is hard and pellet-like. True constipation occurs when stool in the lower intestine is pinched by the tightening of muscles, which can stall, and the longer it remains, the firmer and drier it becomes.
I was told that ready mixed formula can help with this as it has something in it as a preservative that acts as a laxitive.
Once your baby is on solids you will be able to add things to the diet to help.
Good luck.

First of all, how old is your baby? Do you mean only has bowel movements once a week? I would say that for some children it's possible, depending on his/her diet. However, I would talk to your baby's peditrician....especially if the child is a newborn or under the age of about 18 months. Is your baby cranky? He/She may be constipated, which is very common in infants, especially after starting cereal.

I would think your child should go about 4 times at the very least.

No. Normal would be anywhere from 5 to 6 times a week (I'm assuming you're meaning poop, not pee). If you're talking about pee, it should be once or twice a day.
