Let's get one thing straight. He did not "resign". Bush asked him to leave. In all of the previous calls for his resignation, he had said that he serves at the pleasure of the President. That said, it's not a cut-and-run. It gives the American people and the American government a fresh start-someone who can lead the war effort without having to worry about what the American people will think. Rummy will always be blamed for anything that goes wrong with the war, so now it's time for someone who can honestly say, "I wasn't the one who was running it from the beginning, I just want to get the job done, and as quickly as possible. I don't want to dwell on any possible mistakes; the past is the past, and this is what we have to get through."

Rumsfels like Keneth Lay are trying to distance themselves from the President. The only difference is that Kenneth did the extreme way and now Mr Rumsfeld is doing it the conservative way. Maybe now Kenny Boy and RUmsfeld can hang out in a corner of INDIA where no one really pays attention to politics.

When it's too hot in the kitchen
and {" you can't handle the truth"}
"can't handle the heat"
it best to get out of the kitchen
It was A trick from the very beginning, they
( Bush and Those Republicans) could not see the truth!!!!
Now we are surrounded By the enemy...all around the Us Troops!!
Look at the map.......Bush was blindsided
They wanted US to do; what we did!
Civilization...was formed in that region, the first Wars were fought there.......We are babies when it comes to UNDERSTANDING!!!!!
In the beginning...........NWO/mixed with OLD world skills!!!!!
US (400 years) vs 5000 years
Simple math!!!!!

haha..
Seems to me, Bush finally accepted Rumsfeld's resignation because The People spoke.
I believe that Bush actually tries to do what he feels is best for America. Now that he sees without question that The People want a change in Iraq, he pulled Rumsfeld aside and let him go.
Just a hunch...
