I got a microscope one year when I was a kid and loved it so much! I didn't even ask for one. Sure, it was just a toy. But it helped me see how incredible God's creation really is! I used to love to run outside and collect new things to put under my microscope...bugs, leaves, tree bark, all kinds of things. Today I am 51 years old and because of that fond memory, I decided to treat myself to a couple of really nice microscopes. I ordered them from 'Microscopes USA.com'. One is a standard student model and the other is a really cool stereo model (which gives you a 3D image). Every time I look through my microscope(s) my faith in God grows! I love to marvel over His magnificent handy work. I would encourage anyone to get a microscope for their kid whether it be a girl or a boy! They really are a lot of fun. Good luck!

My boys all loved Legos. I never went wrong with Legos (except when one of my boys got a set that was too advanced for him and me!). One year, I took a bunch of random pictures of each and created their own collage frame of pictures of each kid. They loved it! Each one points to 'their' pictures when guests come over. The standard, video games are good. We like board games we can all play together.
Have fun shopping!

Gonna be real boring here... get him something that he can play with, that provides either (or both) physical and mental exercise... Boys like toys that do things or that they can do things with... like a bike (ride it, take it apart and rebuild it etc)... computer games can be for later!
