With a 3/4 inch bolt I don't think I'd be worried about either. Worry about the door (jamb) that it's going into.

Quality of workmanship and materials. Kwickset is what your landlord puts into your apartment and Schlage is what you install in your home. The exterior finish of Schlage is far superior, and will last much longer than Kwickset. Kwickset also has plastic interior parts that become brittle in extremely cold weather.

Unless you're dirt poor, buy the Schlage.

In the upper end lock sets shlage makes a much better lock
