Well i guess i need to ask the question directly, when giving a mentally misfortunate male a bed bath and he forms a erection , and he looks at you with desperate eyes, what is the proper way to handle this? do you help him with his situation or what, ?

No, you don't "help him" as you put it. You treat him as you would treat any other person who is dependent upon you for care. Not to be crude, but, when your baby forms an erection, you don't "help him." You clean him, and go about business.

This is not the correct answer, but if you do you will have a mentally challenged friend forever.
I would tell him to pull the sheet over his head where you cannot see his reaction, and if his erection is that large just keep washing him as if you are masterbating him and I would say within "seconds" it will be over for him, until next wash day..
If I am ever in that situation I would be well pleased, and try and bring myself to my senses....Or at least act sane anyway

No, you don't "help him" with the situation! Then he will expect it all of the time. I'd say if it were your husband it might be different, but just being a caretaker? NO WAY ! Get your mind out of the gutter, honey. Hard on's come and go with the wind in young men no matter what their mental capacity is. Step back from the pecker! Godloveya.

Lord help me, Rody's comments gave me the giggles.
I'm hoping you're a volunteer or something and not a nursing professional, because quite frankly, that scares me.
The proper way to handle it is to ignore him, finish the job and walk away. He'll handle his erection on his own.

Of course you dont 'help him' with the situation. He is a vulnerable person and however willing he is to take part in sexual activity with you, this would be considered as ABUSE!!
You shouldnt even consider it you could lose your job and you would also be putting this guy in a difficult position. He would expect something from you and associate contact with female care staff with sex.
Please dont put yourself in a difficult situation or this man..

OMG. I hope you're kidding.
OF COURSE NOT. You are supposed to be a professional....right? Or are you just a friend to this person? If you are a professional home health care provider, certified by the state........you cannot "help him out." He's mentally disabled and that is considered assault. You'd be arrested.
