Wondering how people w/ demands of a kids and careers take care of *themselves* ... welcome all sorts of healthy ideas. Tx-in-advance!

I have hobbies (flute, sewing) that I like to think I'm good at. It makes me feel good to accomplish something. I also like learning about new things on my own.

I walk with my head up....... sometimes I want to look at the floor but I always feel better about myself if I walk looking straight ahead and look people I meet right in the eyes. Another thing I do to relieve stress from the day is turn on the radio and sing like I am Queen of the World while I drive home from work!!

I go to a sports bar and sit in the front where the big screen is...then I feel pretty because everyone is looking at me. LOL Just kidding.

I always make sure that I do something nice for me...whether it's going out with friends or taking a nap on a cool, rainy day.....

I have three kids, work, and go to college. So to get some alone time and take time for myself. Once a week I soak in a hot bath and to pamper my body for about and hour. And while I am doing this my husband watches the kids. Then every Friday night I stay in my room and watch some movies.

Realize that you are one person, and that you are doing the best you can for children, husband, job. No one can do it all, perfectly. Take small breaks, step back, and don't try to be a one-woman operation--- ask for help. When you are rested, you will see, that you are really blessed to have people in your life, that you are connected to, and that will be all the self esteem you need.

Taking time for yourself is important and, if you want to build self-esteem, try something that makes you feel good. I dance- its sexy to me and its my time out from everything else. If dancing works for you- take classes or just put on some music while doing housework and Tom Cruise it. I recommend it if it at all appeals to you since dancing uses your natural sexuality (especially latin styles) and it will help keep your body in shape.

nothing seems to boost my self esteem, but i do enjoy my yoga class, always feel better afterwards
