The final merchandise I made out of paper mache grew to become right into a dragon as a demonstration for my son. He watched at a similar time as I initially shaped the dragon shape out of plasticine, earlier overlaying it with the paper mache and advance the layers. His very own dragon grew to become right into a actual triumph and he won fabulous marks in his artwork undertaking.

Hmmm...if I were doing it, I would tape newspaper around the wire, the do the paper mache. Once the paper mache is dry it should be no problem keeping its shape.

I assume your strips are inch wide -
dip them in the juice and your first few will wrap around through one wire circle - each end - and attach to themselves by folding thru the circle.
once a few are in place, it becomes easier.
you will end up with more than just one layer.
