Humans are visual creatures...we're naturally attracted to things we find 'pretty' or pleasing to look at...however, many people look beyond weight when considering people for friendship and love...
I know MANY fat people in happy relationships...every fat person I know has a number of friends....
All I can guess is that you've had a negative experience and thus are reacting as though everyone dislikes fat people...
I can tell you from experience that is not true...I've been fat, and dated, married, had friends...
Fat people can get as much love as non-fat people...who you are tends to have more bearing on that, than your weight...if you like you, others will too...

They KNOW that 'fat people' need love but they are so into themselves that they don't even take notice of the world around them.
Some of these people prefer to give their utmost importance to their outside beauty because they're fragile and insecure of themselves. Men & women who are slightly on the heavy side have a low self-confidence (not all of them) but sometimes even the most beautiful people have a lack of self-confidence and if they don't try hard to look good they feel useless.
However, some people say they prefer a model figured partner...why? Because there's too much judgement nowadays. If they see someone going out with a fat partner they'll name him/her The Loser. Unfortunately, the "You can never judge a book by its cover" phrase doesn't count for these type of people.
Curves are beautiful and so are sticks in a way. Even if they aren't, both of them need love.

Unfortuantly in North America, on of the biggest prejustices is against overweight people. It is associated with lower class, filth and lack of self-esteem. Not always true, but just how people see it.
Now to lump 'fat' people together with people who do not have good looks is a bad call! There are many beautiful fat women, unfortunatly their body does not match their face.
At the end of the day, we know the complications attached to being overweight. It is bad for your heart, your overall health and society treats them so much worse. Just getting service in a store is harder, never mind getting a job or needing assistance on the road. No one looks for a partner that will hold them back or hinder them, everyone wants a partner who will raise them up or be their equal. So, even if you put aside the visual effects, on a mental and emotional level, overweight people do not measure up.

Well there are countries that value "fat" people. It equals your social and economic status in society. Why do you think Sumo wrestlers have the most groupies. Even more than rock stars and basketball players (lol). Anyway in Africa a big women is so scarce that if you marry one, you get like all her skinny sisters too! just kidding. But it's just America, YOU need to travel more.

You can't judge everyone. Not all men and women think that way. We are all different.
