I was bought a present of a Gucci necklace, I was told that it is definately genuine but I wanted to make sure. Is there anybody who works for/ is an expert on Gucci?
I would appreciate some hints/tips on how to tell the authentics from the fakes,
It is the two strand ball chain with a long rectangular bar with 'Gucci, made in Italy' written on the very bottom.
Please no silly answers

ps in response it doesnt feel light and the bar is solid. it doesnt say 'made is china' on the back and is hallmarked. It came in a black box with Gucci wrote in silver. It also had a barcode on the side with 'coll.doppia maglia s argento' underneath it. In the box came a brown monogram pouch and some creased print paper. There is also care instructions with print being in English, italian and chinese (?)

You to to a gucci shop and ask if you did not buy it at gucci it is pretty much fake :)

check first on the Gucci website. the writing coll. doppia maglia argento is Italian for double mesh necklace in silver, so i guess it's original. they wouldn't bother waisting all that packaging for a fake. the fake ones normally are quite gross and the G is either too big with no very defined borders. to my knowledge there are more fakes on watches than on jewellery. if still unsure you can call the gucci store in london at this number 020 7629 2716 hope this helps!!

Rather than look for total fakes here is a company that makes high style, low cost stuff. Many designs have the same look as the big designers. They have a London location

It'll probably give a nasty rash when its worn next to the skin. I had a fake Gucci watch and it gave me hell.

you can generally tell by the weight of the item!! does it feel hollow??
Dont go and take it to a Gucci shop as they will take it from you if they find it to be fake!

if it says made in italy and not china then that shows its pretty genuine!!best thing to do is ask in a department store that sells it!!did it come in a box??

it's pretty light, but you can also go online to tha gucci website, and they pretty much tell you all about their items and how to spot real from fake...
