I was a driving instructor - and I'm a woman - and qualified to teach advanced driving . Loads of guys loved saying the same thing to me. It did get tedious. I have taught very good and atrocious men and woman drivers so I adopted an stock answer - with both men and women drivers you get the good, the bad and the ugly!

Men can be better in driving in a sense that they are visually aware and have good eye-hand coordination.

But they have more wrecks than females because when they are young they like to hot-rod and race, thus causing more accidents.

Females generally do not race against others...although some females do, a majority do not do it repeatedly.

Although I find the most dangerous of drivers are women in minivans....I swear they think they can take the road over.

Anywho, it is very tiring to hear it..but I put it aside knowing that everyone isnt good at everything and both men and women will have wrecks.

I'm a woman driver never had an accident well only in the supermaret carpark a few times, but people are so stupid they drive past when I want to reverse out, on roundabouts everyone toots me cause im such a good driver and their letting me know, I have noticed quite a few cars crashing when I look in my mirror, they all seem to be men, they cant seem to keep a car in a straightline they swerve all over the place.

I am a woman and have been driving 22 years.....clean licence and no accidents...touch wood. However I have had two cars written off by male drivers one of which received a conviction for dangerous driving.....There are good and bad drivers in both sexes but I do think some of the worst accidents are speed related and the drivers in these type of accidents are generally young males. ....

I'm a women so you can't say i'm being sexist but I do agree with the theory that men are, in general, better drivers because they have better spatial intelligence than women. Also the reason why men are better at kicking/throwing a ball.

I personally don't have a problem with this theory. So men can kick a ball and park a car. Women are better at everything else in life.

it's entirely up to the individual.
I can tell you that both accidents I've been in involved a male who hit me (their fault).

Lately, it seems that the really bad drivers are the ones with a cell phone glued to their heads, either young men or soccer moms.

People, get a hands free phone!!!

Men are better drivers. Women are safer drivers. Men are careless and try to show off and it cause more wrecks.

Not all blokes say this.
Not all blokes cut you up, pull out without indicating, push in after having skipped to the front of the merge lane and aggressively barge in and give you the finger if you don't move or let them in.

Some do though...

i don't care what people say.
all i know is, women generally pay less car insurance than a man (at least in the US), so i think the statistics speak differently.
