Just to restore my faith in humankind, would be very interested to know any kind deeds that you have done. This can be anything from giving up your seat, or maybe offering someone a hand with their shopping, offering a friend a place to stay....anything!!!

i used to work as a pharmacy technician. one of the customers at my pharmacy was a man who had contracted HIV which progressed into AIDS. he was very funny and intelligent, and we had friendly conversations every time he came in to pick up his meds. as he grew sicker, it got harder and harder for him to come into the pharmacy, so i started delivering his meds to him after work. he would invite me in, and i would stay and talk with him for a while each time. i soon learned that his family had turned his back on him once they found out that he had AIDS. his partner had already died from this horrible disease, and he was totally alone. this broke my heart. i started doing some shopping for him, and spending as much time as i could at his home, just sitting and talking with him. when it became obvious that he couldnt care for himself anymore, i helped him make all of the arrangements for Hospice care and put him in contact with a home health agency. i continued to visit him every day, even if it was just for a few minutes, because i wanted him to know he was not alone in the world. he died about 3 months later. his family only became interested in him after he was gone. they swooped down on his home, and cleaned it out within a day or two. his sister found a note addressed to me in some of his papers. in his note, he told me how thankful he was to have met me. that i let him know that kindness still existed in the world. it also listed some items that he wanted me to have when he died (too late for me of course, his family had taken everything). those kind words from him made me feel better about myself than anything anyone else had ever said to me. i didnt do these things for recognition, reward, or praise. i did them because he needed someone to care about him. and i did.

I was in Claire's once in the mall and there were two younger girls in front of me. They looked to be about 11 or 12. One of the girls was admiring a pair of earrings but didn't have the money to buy them. She put them back and they walked out of the store. When I stepped up to the counter to make my purchase, I grabbed the pair of earrings and had the cashier ring them up. I left the store and tracked down the girls and handed her the earrings...and walked away.

My second cousin who is blind, has five girls. I knew that she deserved a break (as did her mom, my first cousin, whom she lives next door to helps her daily) and offered to take the girls off her hands for a weekend. The girls called it Camp Terry. They aged, at that time, from 5 to 12 and one was a set of twins. The girls were very active and though we had an activity calendar that detailed what we were to do each step of the way, we often got off track (though the girls would remind me we were out of time on this or that project), the girls had a ball. Me - they wore me out! Whew...nonstop girl chatter...:) It was fun. At our summer picnic earlier this year, they asked me when the next Camp Terry was going to happen. HAHAHAHAHA

Donating my time and energy to a non profit organization .
Also in the same instances donating my personal goods for raffles .
I will not mention who it was for because then I consider that taking credit and that takes away from the good deed , in my book .

I took in a friend who was dying of leukemia when their family had kicked them out (they didn't believe they were sick). Nursed them, got them better until their family managed to browbeat them to death - literally.
