A GREAT gift for any child would be books. Whether you go to the book store and pick some out, or sign them up and pre pay for a book club subscription that will be a great gift.

If you really want to purchase a toy, Leap Frog has some great toys for younger kids that are super educational and fun for them! So go to your local Toys R Us and check those out.

My daughters favorite gift when she turned one was a sand box. She's 17 months old and still loves it a lot. Blocks are also a good gift. She loves blocks. She also loves cars that kind of go on their own. She has a helicopter that she really loves too.

Her three favorite books....
The monster at the end of this book
I love you stinky face
I love you through and through

Most kids this age like blocks. At this age my children loved those little peek a blocks. They make some great toys to go with the peek a blocks also. They also like anything that makes noise like a little keyboard or something.

Anything ride-on or play-in :-)

Maybe that new ride on zebra thing from Fisher Price or a small playhouse that goes in the backyard.
