It's better than okay, it's blissful ! Enjoy your time to yourself! Seriously though, just keep a close eye on baby to make sure he/she isn't coming down with a cold or something. I wouldn't worry though.

WOW that's a long time!!!!! Maybe you just got lucky and ended up with a baby who sleeps good. But I really do think you should start waking your baby up (they say every 3 hour) because their little tummies only stay full for that long. Maybe even let her go 4 or 5 hours but 9 hours that seems way too long. But you know what just call your pediatrician and she should be able to tell you over the phone how often you should make sure your baby eats. Good luck:)

Consider yourself very lucky - - but remember, don't ever wake a sleeping baby. I also have a 6 wk old and he does the same thing. In bed between 8 & 9, gets up between 4 & 5 to eat and right back down for at least 2 more hours. New babies sleep a lot - especially while their growing. If your baby is hungry, he/she will get up to eat. Don't force it.

Yes, sounds exactly like my son. Slept all through the night. Had a morning nap. Had an afternoon nap. Had an evening nap. Woke up for daddy when he got home, and then make to sleep for the night.

This stops soon though, lol. He is not almost four months and he sleeps from about eight to seven thirty in the morning. Then he has a morning nap around ten to one. And then he sleeps again in the evening.

You're just lucky. Count your blessings. As long as he is eating when he wakes up, let him sleep.

Some people say when they are this young, that you should wake them up to feed them. I dont know about six weeks, but i know a couple that when they brought their baby home up until i dont know how old, they had to set their alarm for every few hours to wake up their baby and feed him.

I would say that you are very lucky. My little guy is 9 weeks old and sleep at the most 5 hours and then wants to get up and eat. I would just make sure that he is putting in the right amount of weight. Enjoy the time that you are given. I would love to have that much time to get things done.

Not only is it normal but rare. Feel very lucky. Some children just sleep through the night, no problems. However, if this is not a normal pattern for your baby, call your baby's doctor about your concerns. Always better to be safe than sorry.

If this goes on, at the most, for a few days, and there are not any other signs or symptoms of anything else going on, then its probably fine. Take advantage of it, and just know that your baby is having some leaps in growing.
If this goes on for more than a few days, or if you notice anything else going on, make an appt with the Ped.

I'm a mother of two, and in my experience with six week olds, they sleep tons. It's usually a sign of contentment and growth so plenty of rest is healthy and peaceful at this age. My advise is to enjoy the silence and check with a medical prof. if you're really concerned.

Newborn babies spend the majority of their first 4 months sleeping. It takes a lot of rest to grow so much! And remember, it is quite exhausting looking and observing everything outside the womb; it's a lot to process. Everything is fine. Get your rest now, because you will need it once the baby is mobile, he/she will be exploring like crazy!
