I ask because my insurance agent asked during policy signup;
I Googled for this, but got only "5 BHP", which seems absurd and sounds like some SAE spec, say, HP to Watts equivalence.

Look up "horse power" on Wikipedia to understand what "PS" means. It's just a metric measurement. Metric horse power is roughly 98.6% of mechanical horse power.
