Good articles to read:

You need to check for spyware and adware. Good programs to use are Ad-aware, spybot search and destroy, and spydoctor.
Another program is called Hijack this, but you have to be cautious when using this program because it can delete the good stuff as well as the bad stuff on your computer.

http://www.download.com/How-to-use-HijackThis/1200-2023_4-5157522.html?tag=morehowto

For further cleaning, CClenaer cleans the "crap" that's in your computer.

Another way is to manually hunt down these pests by looking at the running programs thats in your task bar. If you see somthing suspicious, then google the program to see if it's good or bad. There are websites that lists the tasks like this one:

http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/index.html

You can also try an online anti-virus scanner to look for other viruses that your anti-virus program missed. Like this one:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Anyways, if all else fails, then I guess it's time for a good old reformat. It's a pain to do it, but after you do it your coputer will be running like new.

Suppose you have an antivirus software loaded on your computor. Run it to clean the virus out of the system. If it fails, update it from the web (there is always a link inside it) and run it again when updated. if it still does not help, search from google/sify etc. the name of the virus and the required patch may be found from the net. Download and run. Finish.
