The skeleton functions not only as the support for the body but also in haematopoiesis, the manufacture of blood cells that takes place in bone marrow. It is also necessary for protection of vital organs and is needed by the muscles for movement.

The bony skeleton has a number of functions. It is the anchor for the musculoskeletal system and allows us to move. It is a protection for vital organs - rib cage about lungs and heart, skull about the brain, pelvis about female reproductive organs It stores calcium and phosphate It is the site of formation of blood cells (in the bone marrow)

For sure, it allows us to stand up and move. Partially for protection of some major parts, mainly in the stomach (not the intestinal area that isn't covered with ribs, the actual stomach) and in the heart and lungs. The only other one I know for sure is blood production. The marrow in the bones is where red blood cells are made.

To provide the human body with a shape and structure
