There are a lot of fun things to do in Scottsdale. Not sure of your age or what your idea of fun is but some possibilities are heading to Old Town and walking around the city. There are a ton of bars, clubs and restaurants and definitely a ton of people around.
North Scottsdale is also fun if you are 21 or older. They have a club called Barcelona that is fun. Sapporo is also fun, but once again a 21 yr old type of thing.
Desert Ridge shopping center is off of the 101 at Tatum, this has a lot of people, shopping, restaurants and a club.
If you like to hike, head to Pinnacle Peak or Cave Creek, just above Scottsdale and there are beautiful trails with breathtaking scenery.
If you like to horseback ride, there are a few stables that run hour long trail rides in Scottsdale too, I think one is McDonald Ranch and the other I know of is Spur Cross Ranch up in Cave Creek.
One last suggestion- Cave Creek, a few miles above Scottsdale, this is a fun cowboy town with saloon-y types of bars. Easiest way to get there is off of the 101 on Cave Creek rd. this will wind you right into the downtown area. Depending on where you are, another way to get there is take Scottsdale rd all the way out and follow it around Carefree.

Fashion Square mall is amazing, its on Scottsdale Rd. & Camelback. Lots of designer shops and stuff like that. You could also hike Camelback Mountain if thats your thing (68th Street North of Camelback). Finally, there is old town Scottsdale (Scottsdale Rd from Camelback to Osborn). Old Town has all the hip bars & art galleries.... enjoy.

How old are you? Possibly Crackerjax or Fiddlesticks. If you have kids, check out the Stillman Railroad Park.
