I guess I am looking for any effects that children would have on a marriage, both posative and negative (i.e. financial stability, financial success, anything...)

Whilke having kids is one of the greatest things, and I love being a mom, it totally stresses a relationship- that doesn't mean it will break it up.....SO much LESS time for the couple to be a couple....any parent here that says differently is either lying or not doing their jobs correctly as a parent. How could a baby NOT stress a two-some???/ Now its a threesome or moresome and the baby/kids require plenty of time.........plenty.

I dont think there has been any studies my husband and I are having our first child and if anything it brings you closer to know that you two brought something into the world like that. Divorces normally happen when two people are suddenly un happy but the best way to prevent a divorce is by talking to your husband or your wife communication is very important and if you have kids i wouldnt suggest a divorce because you truly hurt the kids. So to answer your question it dont increase divorces it makes a happy marriage

I don't know. But I know that having kids absolutely puts a strain on a marriage. That's just one reason why I don't have any kids. Their such a pain in the A$s !

No but there have been studies that prove marriage is the leading
cause of divorce

I'm not sure about a study, but I'm sure that having kids and not being able to take care of them can ruin a relationship or marriage.

I really doubt that...they usually hold ppl together for even longer than they want sometimes.
