For what reason does Walmart card for Plungers?

Hi....

So my fiance and I went to Walmart for a plunger... and we went to the self checkout and we were carded! FOR A PLUNGER!!!

Does anyone know why?

Are you serious?? Makes me want to go try that after work! LOL I have never heard such a thing. No clue why they would do that.

Did he use a credit card, maybe they were checking him for his credit card.
