Definately wash it using gentle cycle and baby detergent like Dreft or Baby Method.

HOWEVER, that said, you should never put anything heavier than a receiving blanket in a crib with a newborn. They can suffocate due to a phenomenon called rebreathing, which is a leading cause of SIDS...

Here is some info for you

An infant should never have a comforter or heavy bedding until they are old enough to roll over both ways on their own, wake up when they are having trouble breathing and shift positions on their own, usually about 6-7 months or so.

Congrats on your little one!

Yes you will have to! All child units corresponding to blankets, sheets, garments, and bumpers are or no less than will have to be cleanable. Even if you do not wash it now your child will finally get poop or vomit on the whole thing inside ten toes of her after which you are going to ought to wash it. I made for absolute certain that the crib set we received was once cleanable in a constant washing desktop earlier than we received it. I have not ever visible one who wasn't cleanable, nevertheless it might be simply my success to get the only crib set that was once dry blank handiest, lol. The factories that make garments and bedding and such are most likely filthy and feature a wide variety of dirt and extra dyes and matters floating by way of the air and into your sheets. My grandmother labored in a fabric manufacturing facility for a whilst and might under no circumstances put on whatever new with out washing two times after that. You'd suppose it might have got greater because then, nevertheless it has handiest gotten worse. I'd wager well cash that your crib set was once made in an unsanitary running atmosphere in a few nation someplace in Asia often. I might additionally propose towards Dreft. My mom was once truthfully allergic to Dreft, which is meant to be very smooth. "Free and Clear" is truthfully extra smooth for humans with touchy dermis and a LOT inexpensive. We simply switched the entire household to loose and transparent and no person has had a hindrance. Dreft is simply so high-priced for what it's. Good Luck!

Just wash it. No need to use Lysol. Oh and the baby detergents are great but pricey. Try using Arm and Hammer detergent. It has no prefumes or dyes.

Wash it like you would normal clothes but not with your clothes. Rinse it twice and dry it without dryer sheets if you think your son might have sensitive skin. If you are not worried about the sensitive skin then wash it like you do all the other laundry.
