I LOVE freedom of speech, but in some instances, I think people need to censor themselves. I don't know how to get people to do that. Like that IDIOT fred phelps. I understand that we even have to protect unpopular speech, but why isn't what he does called a hate crime?

censorship is the only thing that keeps this thing civil. there are web sites with no censorship, if you prefer.
