What about a scooter or skateboard?
Heelys are expensive and at his age he will outgrow them before he gets the goody out of them.
I have seen a lot of children with them. They can be a nuisance if they are not respectful where and where not to use them. For instance, in a grocery store? I blame the parents of children that abuse them.
Surly there are a lot of other things he could use better.

Well at least read him "A Christmas Story" or watch the movie with him. The child in that film wants a BB gun put everyone says "You'll shoot your eye out." It's a classic.
I don't know what Heelys are, I guess I'm getting old (24).

there isnt a kid in my daughters school playground that doesnt want a pair of these, seems they are all the rage, but as for your boy, why cant he have some, u can buy him knee pads elbow pads etc, and come on they aint no more dangerous than the jacko's i wore as a kid,... come on let the boy have some.....

Buy him some car tyres, some old school shoes and a bottle of super glue. Since your not buying one, make him one! Don't take it so hard, afterall, It's Christmas!

A helmet and some of those elbow and knee pads, let him save up for the heeleys
