The term social justice is now being bandied by the protagonists of reservation. Jawaharlal Nehru was not one such person and in fact during his time that was not a popular issue. It is only after Mandal Commission's report was implemented by V.P. Singh that the battle cry for social justice reverberated in the whole of India. As far as Jawaharlal Nehru is concerned, he had a fancy for socialism and was enamoured of Russian model of economy. At best, you may call him a socialist.
